Lightning Roulette at VegasNow: multipliers, payouts and bonus rules
Lightning Roulette is the Evolution table in our live lobby where a single-zero wheel meets random multipliers. Each round, one to five numbers are struck at 50x to 500x, and only straight-up bets on those numbers can collect them. Below we turn the published figures into Australian dollars, show how the table counts toward bonus wagering and loyalty, and list the slip-ups worth avoiding.
VegasNow Lightning Roulette at a glance
Every figure this page relies on is listed below with its source. Gaps are deliberate. Evolution publishes no return-to-player percentage on its page for this game, so we leave that line out rather than fill it with a guess.

| Wheel | European single zero, numbers 0 to 36, so 37 pockets | Evolution |
| Lightning Numbers per round | Between 1 and 5 | Evolution |

How a Lightning Roulette round runs, from first chip to payout
A live presenter runs the table in real time, and every round moves through the same four beats. Knowing them makes the rhythm easier to manage, especially on a small screen where the timer can sneak up on you.
1. The betting window opens
Chips go down exactly as on any roulette layout: single numbers, small blocks of neighbouring numbers on the inside, or the broad outside areas such as colours, dozens and columns. An on-screen timer counts down to the moment bets close.
2. Lightning strikes
After bets close, between one and five numbers are hit by lightning. Each struck number carries its own multiplier, drawn at random from the 50x to 500x range, and the figure is displayed on the layout.
3. The ball finds a pocket
The wheel turns and the ball comes to rest in one of the 37 pockets. The strike does not steer the ball or favour any pocket; it only changes what a straight-up chip on a struck number can collect.
4. Bets are settled
A straight-up chip on the winning number pays 29:1 if that number was not struck, or the multiplier if it was. Every other winning bet is paid at its usual roulette rate, struck number or not.
Hold on to one idea for the rest of this page: multipliers belong to straight-up bets and nothing else. A chip on black, on the second dozen or on a corner pays the same whether or not lightning touched the winning number.
Which VegasNow Lightning Roulette bets can be multiplied
The layout is the standard European one, so there are no new bets to learn. What changes is which bets can ever meet a multiplier. The table sorts the main bets by how many numbers each covers and whether lightning can reach it.
| Bet | Numbers covered | Can a Lightning multiplier apply? |
|---|---|---|
| Straight-up | 1 | Yes, when that number is struck and then wins |
| Split | 2 | No |
| Street | 3 | No |
| Corner | 4 | No |
| Line | 6 | No |
| Dozen or column | 12 | No |
| Red or black, odd or even, low or high | 18 | No |
The paytable on the table itself lists the exact rates for the group bets, and they follow ordinary roulette. We only convert the straight-up figures into dollars here, because those are the payouts the Lightning format alters.
Two pieces of arithmetic come straight from the wheel. With 37 pockets, a lone number comes up on roughly one spin in 37 over the long run. And even when the full five numbers are struck, 32 of the 37 carry no multiplier, so most straight-up wins at this table are paid at 29:1 rather than at a multiplier.
Straight-up payouts in Australian dollars
A straight-up chip can end a round in only three ways: it loses, it wins at 29:1, or it wins on a struck number and collects the multiplier. The table prices those outcomes at four stake sizes, topping out at A$8, the ceiling for bonus play. For the multiplier columns we use the two ends of the published range; anything in between depends on the draw.
| Stake on one number | Number loses | Wins, not struck (29:1) | Wins, struck at 50x | Wins, struck at 500x |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| A$1 | A$1 lost | A$29 | A$50 | A$500 |
| A$2 | A$2 lost | A$58 | A$100 | A$1,000 |
| A$5 | A$5 lost | A$145 | A$250 | A$2,500 |
| A$8 | A$8 lost | A$232 | A$400 | A$4,000 |
The 29:1 figure is the cost of the lightning. Set against a conventional roulette table, the straight-up rate here is lower, and that gap is what pays for the occasional large multiplier. Neither layout is better in itself. One spreads its returns more evenly; the other trades a slice of every ordinary win for rare, much bigger ones. If steadier straight-up payouts suit you, check the paytable of a conventional table in our live casino lobby before choosing a seat.
Covering several numbers: a worked example
Spreading chips across a handful of numbers improves the odds of a hit, but every round you also pay for the chips that miss. Here is A$1 on each of five numbers, A$5 a round in total.
| What happens on the spin | Chance | Result for the round |
|---|---|---|
| None of your five numbers comes up | 32 in 37 | A$5 lost |
| One of your numbers comes up | 5 in 37 | One chip wins, the other four (A$4) are lost |
When one of the five lands, the size of the result depends on whether lightning struck it:
- Not struck: A$29 won on that chip, less A$4 lost on the other four, so A$25 ahead for the round.
- Struck at 50x: A$50 won, less A$4, so A$46 ahead.
- Struck at 500x: A$500 won, less A$4, so A$496 ahead.
Only one pocket wins per spin, so no more than one of the five chips can pay. Across 37 spins you would put A$185 on the layout, and on average just five of those spins would land on one of your numbers, most of them at 29:1. With a bonus active, keep the total you place in a round within A$8 unless our support team confirms the limit is read per chip; five A$1 chips fit under it on either reading.
How Lightning Roulette counts toward VegasNow bonus wagering
Our bonus terms (general conditions, 26 February 2024 edition) weight each type of game differently when you are working through a wagering requirement. Roulette, Lightning Roulette included, counts at 25%, so a A$1 chip moves the counter by 25 cents. The welcome package can be played in the casino and the live casino, so the table is allowed while a bonus is running. It is simply a slow way to make progress.
| Game type | Contribution | Counted from an A$8 bet |
|---|---|---|
| Pokies (exceptions are listed in the terms) | 100% | A$8 |
| Roulette, including Lightning Roulette | 25% | A$2 |
| Blackjack | 10% | A$0.80 |
| Game shows such as Crazy Time | 10% | A$0.80 |
| Baccarat | 0% | Nothing |
Worked example: a A$50 first deposit
Say you make a A$50 card deposit at the first stage of the welcome package. The 150% match adds A$75 of bonus funds, and 40x wagering on that bonus comes to A$3,000 of qualifying play, all inside seven days. On a pokie that counts in full, A$3,000 of spins covers it. At the roulette rate you need four times as much: A$12,000 of stakes. At the A$8 ceiling that is 1,500 spins, or roughly 214 a day for a week. At A$2 a spin it grows to 6,000 spins.
A multiplier does not shorten the task. Contribution is worked out on the amount you stake, never on the amount you win, so a 500x hit on a A$1 chip still adds 25 cents to the counter.
The A$8 bet limit and A$5,000 cash-out cap at this table
Four bonus conditions carry extra weight here, mainly because the table can produce one very large result from a modest chip.
A$8 maximum bet
While any bonus sits on your account, no bet may go above A$8. Where chips are spread around, the cautious reading is the total you place in one round, so ask support how the limit applies before spreading them.
A$5,000 per offer
Each deposit-bonus offer has a A$5,000 (or equivalent) ceiling on what its winnings can turn into withdrawable cash. An A$8 straight-up struck at 500x pays A$4,000, inside that ceiling. A second hit of that size on the same bonus would push past it, and anything above A$5,000 is not paid.
Seven days, one bonus
Each offer is valid for seven days, and you can hold just one live bonus at once. The clock keeps running between sessions, whether or not you are at the table.
Three-times deposit turnover
Apart from any bonus, our account terms (version 2.3) require you to turn each deposit over three times before withdrawing funds linked to it. A A$50 deposit needs A$150 of stakes first.
If roulette is the whole reason you are here, our general terms let you decline a bonus. That removes the A$8 limit, the seven-day clock and the 40x requirement, though the three-times deposit rule still stands. Ask support what declining would do to any funds already tied to an active offer before you confirm. The full list of defaults sits on our bonuses page.
Clearing a VegasNow bonus at the wheel or on the pokies
The A$3,000 requirement from the worked example asks for very different effort depending on the game.
| Where you play | Contribution | Stakes needed for A$3,000 | Rounds at A$8 | Rounds at A$2 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pokies not on the exceptions list | 100% | A$3,000 | 375 | 1,500 |
| Lightning Roulette | 25% | A$12,000 | 1,500 | 6,000 |
| Blackjack or game shows | 10% | A$30,000 | 3,750 | 15,000 |
| Baccarat | 0% | Does not count | Not applicable | Not applicable |
A live wheel also sets its own tempo. Each round needs a betting window, a spin and a settlement before the next opens, so you cannot hurry through rounds as you can on a pokie. Around 214 spins a day at the maximum bet, every day for a week, is a demanding schedule for a A$75 bonus.
The rates suggest two sensible plans: clear the bonus mostly on eligible pokies and then enjoy Lightning Roulette with cash and no target, or decline the bonus and play the wheel with no limits attached. What tends to go wrong is accepting a bonus and then trying to clear it at 25%.
VegasNow loyalty points from Lightning Roulette
Our loyalty programme awards points on real-money turnover, at a rate set by the type of game. Points follow stakes rather than results, so a winning evening and a losing evening of the same size earn exactly the same.
| Game type | Wagering per point | Points from A$1,000 wagered |
|---|---|---|
| Slots (pokies) | A$25 | 40 |
| Roulette | A$100 | 10 |
| Blackjack and baccarat | A$250 | 4 |
Run through the worked example, the A$12,000 of roulette stakes that clears a A$3,000 requirement earns 120 points. The smallest Loyalty Store exchange gives Golden Glimmer members A$5 of bonus funds for 200 points, which takes A$20,000 of play at this table. Saving 2,000 points for the published A$60 exchange would take A$200,000 of roulette turnover. Higher tiers swap at better rates: Parisian Palace Las Vegas members can turn 750 points into A$20, and at Bella Vista 100,000 points become A$5,000.
Every bonus bought with points carries 40x wagering. A A$5 exchange therefore needs A$200 of qualifying play, which works out to A$800 of Lightning Roulette at 25%. Our VIP and loyalty page walks through all seven tiers plus Sin City, the lounge we fill by selection.
Playing Lightning Roulette on your phone
The table runs in your phone's browser. Neither Apple's nor Google's store carries a VegasNow app, and we never ask you to sideload an APK. Safari and Chrome both handle the video stream, the betting layout and the lightning animation. For one-tap access, pin the casino as an icon: in Safari the Share button leads to Add to Home Screen, and in Chrome the three-dot menu holds the install or Home screen option. Our mobile guide covers both in detail.
- Use a steady connection. The betting window closes on the studio's timer, not yours, and a stalled stream can leave you watching a round you meant to bet on.
- Put chips down early in the window rather than in the final seconds.
- If the layout feels cramped, try landscape and see which view you find easier to bet on.
- If a round is interrupted, note the time and any round reference before you contact support.
- Choose a deposit limit before the first spin, not after a long session.
Common Lightning Roulette mistakes at VegasNow
- Expecting outside bets to be multiplied. Colours, dozens, columns, odd or even and low or high are never multiplied, and the same goes for splits, streets, corners and lines.
- Treating 500x as typical. It is the top of a randomly drawn range, and it only pays when it lands on a struck number that also wins.
- Taking 29:1 as the normal straight-up rate. It is specific to this table, because the multipliers are funded from it.
- Betting above A$8 with a bonus running. The limit stays in place until the bonus is completed, expires or is declined.
- Forgetting the 25% weighting. Every A$100 at the wheel counts as A$25 toward wagering.
- Chasing a number that has not come up. The wheel keeps no memory. A long absence does not make a number due.
- Overlooking the A$5,000 cap. One big multiplier on bonus funds can bring you closer to it than you might expect.
Before you sit down: a VegasNow table checklist
- Fix your session budget and stopping point, in dollars, before opening the lobby.
- Check your account for an active bonus. If there is one, the A$8 limit, the 25% weighting and the seven-day clock all apply.
- Decide whether you want that bonus at all. If the wheel is the plan, consider declining it first.
- Confirm you have opened the original Lightning Roulette table and glance at its rules screen.
- Set or review your deposit limit.
- Pick a stake per number and the most chips you will place in any one round.
- Note your start time, and stop at your planned point whatever the last result was.
Responsible play at the Lightning table
Just Entertainment B.V. runs VegasNow, holding Curaçao Gaming Authority licence OGL/2024/164/0246; the licence validator shows the record. You must be 18 or older to open an account with us.
Lightning Roulette rounds are short and come around quickly, and the strike animation is built to catch the eye. Neither is a reason to raise a stake or stretch a session. Your account settings let you cap deposits or exclude yourself altogether, and our responsible gambling page walks through both.

VegasNow Lightning Roulette: questions and answers
How much does a single-number bet pay at the VegasNow Lightning Roulette table?
If your number wins and was not struck, it pays 29:1, so A$29 on a A$1 chip. If it was a Lightning Number, it pays that number's multiplier instead, somewhere from 50x to 500x, so between A$50 and A$500 on the same A$1.
How many numbers are struck by lightning each round?
Between one and five. Each struck number gets its own multiplier, drawn at random from 50x to 500x, which means at least 32 of the 37 numbers carry no multiplier on any given spin.
Are red, black, dozen or column bets ever multiplied?
No. Only straight-up bets can collect a multiplier. Outside bets and the inside group bets (splits, streets, corners and lines) pay their usual roulette rates, even when the winning number was struck.
How much does Lightning Roulette count toward bonus wagering?
25% of every stake. A A$3,000 requirement therefore takes A$12,000 of roulette play, and bets are limited to A$8 each while the bonus runs.
Is there a cap on what I can cash out from a bonus at this table?
Yes, A$5,000 or equivalent per deposit-bonus offer. An A$8 straight-up struck at 500x pays A$4,000, which fits, but a second result of that size on the same bonus would not be paid in full.
How many loyalty points does Lightning Roulette earn?
One point per A$100 wagered, whatever the results. The 200 points needed for a A$5 bonus at Golden Glimmer take A$20,000 of roulette play, and that bonus then carries 40x wagering.
What is the RTP of Lightning Roulette?
Evolution's page for this table gives no return-to-player percentage, and we will not invent one. Any RTP figure describes a long-run average over a vast number of rounds and says nothing about how one session will go.
Does Lightning Roulette work on a mobile?
Yes, in Safari or Chrome. There is no verified VegasNow app in either store and no APK to install. Saving the site to your Home Screen gives you an icon that opens it, as our mobile guide explains.
